Chewed shoes. Shredded cushions. A cat who has decided the curtains are a climbing wall. Before you blame "bad behavior," ask yourself one question: is my pet bored?
Dogs and cats were built to hunt, sniff, chase, and solve problems. When they don't get to use those skills, they find their own (usually expensive) entertainment. The good news? Just 10–15 minutes of the right kind of play each day can make a huge difference — and you don't need a big budget.
Games for Dogs 🐶
1. Find It!
Ask your dog to sit and stay, hide a few treats around the room, then say "Find it!" Start easy (in plain sight) and make it harder as they improve. Sniffing is hard mental work, so this tires dogs out fast.
2. The Muffin Tin Puzzle
Put treats in a few cups of a muffin tin and cover every cup with a tennis ball. Your dog has to figure out which balls to remove. Instant DIY puzzle toy.
3. The Towel Burrito
Scatter kibble on an old towel, roll it up, and let your dog unroll it to find the goodies.
4. Frozen Lick Treats
Spread plain yogurt or wet food on a lick mat and freeze it for a longer-lasting challenge. Our Zen Lick Feeder is made for exactly this — and licking has a naturally calming effect.
5. Five-Minute Trick Training
Teach something new: "spin," "high five," "touch." Short training sessions build focus, confidence, and your bond. End on a success!
6. Hide and Seek
Have someone hold your dog while you hide, then call their name. Dogs love this game — and it quietly strengthens their recall.
7. Treat-Dispensing Toys
Toys that wobble, roll, and drop treats keep dogs busy while you work. Try the Wobble Duck Dispenser or the Snack-Stash Sphere.
8. Mealtime Puzzles
Instead of a bowl, serve dinner in a puzzle board. The Kibble Quest Board turns every meal into a brain game.

9. The Wand Toy Hunt
Move a feather or wand toy like real prey — hiding behind furniture, darting away, pausing. Let your cat "catch" it at the end, then offer a treat or meal. This hunt–catch–eat pattern is deeply satisfying for cats.
10. Cardboard Box Fort
Cut a few holes in a box and drop a toy inside. Cats will spend ages fishing for it. Connect several boxes and you've built a castle.
11. Toilet Roll Treat Puzzle
Fold the ends of an empty cardboard roll with a few treats inside, and let your cat bat and paw it open.
12. Cat TV
Place a comfy perch near a window with a view of birds or trees. It's free entertainment for hours.
13. Paper Ball Scatter
Sometimes the simplest toy wins. Crumple a few paper balls and toss them across a hard floor. (Always supervise and remove anything small enough to swallow.)
Games for Both 🐾
14. Scatter Feeding
Instead of using a bowl, scatter part of your pet's dry food across a clean floor or mat so they have to "forage" for it — just like their wild relatives.
15. Toy Rotation
Pets get bored of the same toys. Keep only 3–4 out at a time, and swap them every few days. Old toys suddenly become exciting again!
